We did fingerprints yesterday. Went down to the immigration office (USCIS), and that is one interesting place. Since this is my 2nd time, I know the drill. I just left my purse and took my paper and ID. Less to worry about. I actually felt like the foreigner, sitting there not understanding a word that was said by the people waiting! And those poor people that work there have become so hardden. I think it actually hurt for the one lady to smile at me. I walked in and they had me set my stuff down and the officer asked if I had my cell phone, camera, recording device...blah, blah blah, I said no sir, I left it all in the car. He looked at me like I had just grown a third eye! I put my stuff through the x-ray machine. When I picked it up I said "thank you." At that point I think he was waiting for my head to spin and me to spit pea soup out my nose!
I walked into the other room. This is where the "lovely" women was sitting having people fill out a form, checking ID's, having people wash their hands. I took my form, said thank you, and she looked at me funny. I sat down, filled out the form and waited in line again. I watched as she told people what to do.
I waited my turn and then they called me Number 29. I walked in and same "sweet" lady took my prints. I smiled at her and did what she told me to do. She was thawing as I was leaving. She said have a nice day. The other lady said "good luck on your adoption and have a safe flight". Either way....finger prints are done. So hopefully we will be on the quick end of things. Last time it was 4 weeks to the day! We will see.
Time to start on the dossier. Same thing as before, I know we can do this quickly. Plan to have it done by beginning of June. So we are moving forward with this adoption. I have left it all in God's hands. I know about all the controversy surrounding Nepal right now. But from our last letter, it sounds like they are trying to work things out. Dylan and I pray each night for a "baby sister" from Nepal, and that God will find the right sister.
