Forever Family Day #2

Wow, we have been a family for 2 years. Happy Forever Family Day my sweet boy. I still remember the day. I still remember how nervous I was as we drove to the orphanage for the last time. I was so afraid that you would not like me. I was so afraid that you would be so scared. But I was so excited to be your mom. I had dreamed about you for so long. We walked up the stairs for the last time and there you were. You cried a little bit, but the nannies dressed you in your beautiful blue ao dai, they cried and loved on you. They handed you to me. After signing papers, you were our little boy.

Over the past 2 years we have had the privilege of watching you grow. You are the sweetest boy. You had to overcome a lot. You were really small when we got you and not real healthy, but you are strong. You learned to sit up, you learned to crawl, you learned to walk. You are so smart. You can spell several words, you can draw, you try to say new things all the time. You are so fun, you make us laugh. You love to spin in circles, you love to climb on things, you love to sing songs. Mama loves it when you give me hugs and kisses. You give them out so freely. You are the best little boy in the world. You are SO loved!
Thank you for letting me be your mommy.

We celebrated our Forever Family Day by going to the Oklahoma Aquarium. Dylan LOVED it. He loves fish, he even touched the shark and the stingray. Of course once he put his hand in the tank, he thought he should be able to do that to all the tanks. That was hard explaining that you can't do that to this tank. He really liked feeding the turtles. He would jump up and down and laugh at them. It was a really good time. The shark tube was pretty cool. I tried to get a really good picture. He loved it. He was jumping up and down and squealing at the sharks swimming over his head. It was quite funny. I have decided that I need to take a class or something. I have this really cool camera and I don't even know what it can do.

We decided that each year we will do something fun together as a family to celebrate the day we became a family. This weekend is also special for another reason. It is our anniversary, 12 years. We celebrated our 10 year by going to Vietnam to pick up a special little boy. This year, we are going to go to the Warren Theater, sit in the balcony where only grown-ups are allowed, eat dinner and enjoy a movie. But we put that off a week or 2 to wait for a good movie.

Life is the same. I am just getting over the mumps...yes....the mumps. It is not the virus kind that people got as kids and yes...I had a vaccine, it is a baterial infection, but believe me it is still most painful. Dylan and Mark and doing well. Dylan is still going to speech every week. While he is not saying a lot of clear words, he is making such progress. He chatters all the time now and I think he is saying a lot more than we know.

He still learns to spell new words all the time. He totally shocked me. We have these magnetic letters on the fridge and we have some on his easel. I noticed the word jump on his easel. I thought maybe someone did that. Well, next day...I saw it on the fridge. It was him...we asked him to spell jump and he did it. He is so crazy smart!

Easter was nice, we spent it at Nana and Papa's house. We had a nice lunch and enjoyed the day together...even though it was rainy and cold. Dylan had his egg hunt at school, so we didn't miss out on that. This month has been busy with anniversary's, birthday parties, etc. Also, school will be wrapping up next month. Everything else is fine, just gearing up for summer, I am sure it will be a busy one. Hope everyone is doing well.
