Spring Program-School Ended

Well, yesterday was Dylan's last day of school for this year. He did great! I am so glad that we put him in DaySchool. It is just 2 days a week, and held at our church. The first month was pretty rough on the little guy, but he is doing great now. It helped him to interact with other children and he has learned so much. His teacher Ms K was just wonderful!!! She was exactly what he needed. I am sad that he won't have her again next year. The school programs have been particularly tough for him.

Last night, they all say solos again. (ok, so I use the word "sang" loosely). But it it really cute. He of course was pouting and tearing up at the beginning. (sorry, I had to crop the pictures to protect the innocents...didn't want to post other people's children). But if you can't tell, he has the pouty lip going here with little tears in his eyes. He is looking at me with a look that says "I can't believe you are making me do this...why aren't you saving me?"

He was so handsome in his little outfit. He has grown up so much. My baby is going to turn 3 in about a month, where has the time gone. After the 1st couple of songs, he actually started getting into it. He was doing the motions and occassionly singing just a little! You could tell which songs were his favorite and tell which ones he knew really well. His teacher has told us that music time is his favorite part of the day...so I am not surprised. He just isn't wild about all those people staring at him. I really think he is just still very unsure about anything different and has a little bit of separation anxiety if I am not next to him when he is going something different.

Well, he didn't actually sing for his big solo, but he stood up there, and held the microphone. He was so cute and so little. We were very proud of him. There were no tears at all. He even acted like he might sing a couple of times, but then quickly closed his mouth and just stared at this teacher.

We are all very proud of him. He has really come a long way. I am amazed at the changes in him over the last 2 years. He was a weak, sick little boy when he first came home. He couldn't really get around and had trouble sitting up. But he is a fighter! His strong-will saved his life. He now is a typical little boy, that loves to get dirty, drink out of bird baths, spend all his time outside, watch Diego any chance he gets, lap up water from puddles on the sidewalk like a dog, play with his animals, and just have fun. I love my little boy so much...I am so blessed to have him in my life.

I think his teacher thinks so too! Now Daddy is going to have to think up ways to entertain this little bundle of energy 2 days a week for the summer. GOOD LUCK!
