Spring Break

Well, we had Spring Break this week and Dylan and I got to spend a lot of time together. We had a lot of fun this week. We started off the week by going to see my friend Julie's horse. Dylan had a lot of fun at the barn. Believe it or not...he actually touched the horse. This is a HUGE milestone for this little boy! He is a big chicken when it comes to animals. I was very proud of him. We went with Zak and Kerrie. They actually rode the horse together. We all had a great time.

Tuesday, Dylan had is first eye appointment. I was amazed at how well he did. Everything looked good, and he did not cry...just a little when they dialted his eyes, but a lot of people don't like drops in their eyes...you should see his Daddy when it comes to drops.

We also spent time at the zoo, he loves going to the zoo. Pretty funny for a little guy that doesn't care much for animals. He loves them if they are behind a fence or glass wall. He was fascinated by the bears that were wrestling, he LOVES the aquarium. We went at a great time...almost all of the animals were feeding....so they were out and about. We had a great time.

He spent time playing with friends and just having a good time. He is so active and really trying to talk more. He is saying more words (you have to listen close to understand). It is funny but it seems like on most of his words he is only saying the vowels in the word and not the consonants. So we might be in speech for a while. He is doing great, so we are grateful for Miss K.

It has been beautiful outside, so we have been spending a lot of time outdoors. He loves being outside. He likes to play basketball with his little basketball goal, and also play in the sandbox. We have to keep an eye on him or you will catch him drinking water out of the bird bath. Lately, he has been licking me (yes...licking like a dog). We were standing in church last Sunday, he was holding Mark's hand and my hand. He was swaying back and forth to the song. When he swayed toward Daddy, he would lick his pants...when he swayed toward me...he licked my skirt. YUCK. He now thinks it is funny to walk up....and give me a big lick. When I says "stop that" he will hug me, pat me when he hugs me and then give me a big kiss. I like the hugs and kisses he is freely giving!!!
Well, now it is back to the regular routine. I am not happy about this...I had fun this week. I don't want to go back to work. But, I am sure he missed his school. That about sums up what is going on with us.

It sounds like Dylan is really growing up. I'm glad his speech is coming along. Sarah still goes to Ms. Sandy and it makes such a huge difference. Will I see you at VN Weekend this summer? I hope so - and look forward to visiting with you again.
