Christmas Update

Well, we had a great Christmas. I am sorry to disappoint, but this will strictly be an update sans pictures. I know...that is the only reason you check in here, but I will post some later. We had most of our family in. They came to my house for Christmas day. I think everyone had a good time. There were about 25 people (sad to say that is just a little over half). It was a busy time.

Dylan had a good Christmas, although, he was very hard to please. He did receive an easel from Santa. He LOVES it. Of course he also thinks that he can write on the walls as well. (NOT GOOD). He actually draws. It kind of blows my mind. I will have to post some of his drawings. He draws people and animals, really weird, but you can tell what some of them are.

We are still struggling with speech issues. He is actually trying to say more, but you can't understand most of it. He likes to repeat what we say, so we can figure out most the time what he is trying to say. He is starting to get frustrated with us when we don't understand him. He is such a smart little boy. I probably don't want to know what he is thinking, I may find out how stupid he thinks I am.

His Nana gave him an Elmo Live because he LOVED it in the store. Well, he hated it at first. But after several days of me hugging him and playing with him...he decided it was ok. I had to get him to like it because Nana spent too much money on him, so Nana, he likes it now. It was real funny, when I would hug and kiss Elmo, Dylan would get jealous and come over to get a hug and a kiss from me. He is MOST definitely a mama's boy.

We start back up with speech this week. The doctor thinks I might need to take him to Children's for a more extensive evaluation. I will talk to his therapist this week. Hopefully it is still part of his delay issues. We are NO WHERE on potty training. He kind of seems to be about 6 mos behind on most things, so maybe soon. I am following everyone's advice and not pushing the issue...even though it goes beyond my nature not to.

We are getting together with Zak and Cole to get Tet pictures taken. We decided to try and do that every year. The boys are funny....it should be an experience. I was going to try a Tet party this year, but with everything that has been going on...that will just have to wait til next year, we will just celebrate with friends.

Store is going well. We had a bit of excitement before Christmas. A couple of people decided we needed a drive in window and drove into the emergency exit. Thankfully, they did not take much, most of the cost was in the damages. But, it is getting back to normal and we only lost about 2-3 hours of business. So, it really wasnt' as bad as it could have been. I am getting over a nasty cold. Dylan is struggling with it now. That pretty much sums up our holidays. Pictures are coming soon. (I finally followed my idols (Erin and Leigh) I got a new DSLR camera. I have no idea how to really use it...but it is like Dylan's first month home all over again. I have taken hundreds of pictures in the last couple of weeks.

Let Erin be your idol and don't look at my blurry pictures!

Good update. WB didn't potty train until almost 4. Don't worry about it...it will come.

Can't wait to see pictures!
