Halloween and other stuff

Well, lets see, what have we been up to?
The store is moving along, we had our first tournament. It was a guitar hero tournament, all these guys showed up with their guitars, and their monster drinks and rocked out to various Expert Level songs. Now I too like to play guitar hero and I was most impressed with myself when the "easy level" songs were frankly too easy. So I have moved to Medium Level, which is frankly becoming less of a challenge. But, when I saw these "gamers" playing the expert level, making 99% and barely missing notes, I almost had to fall on my knees and say "I'm not worthy!" WOW! So that was quite an experience.

My family went on a little trip to Arkansas in October. We had a nice, relaxing weekend on the "mountain" in Mena, Arkansas. It was a beautiful view with fantastic weather, and the Hike from you know where. I asked the lady before we started if it was ok for a 2 year old. She said, sure. OK, she obviously does not have a 2 year old or any kid, because....we should have turned back. We had to climb over slippery rocks, up hills and uneven ground. My cousin even brought her 6 week old baby, very crazy. We had no idea what we were in for. The view was beautiful, but...good grief. Good thing several of us went, so we could take turns carrying Dylan back, I was doing good not to trip on my own two feet, much less carry him.
Dylan got to meet his new cousin Jesse. He is not sure about the baby, he was curious but not sure he understoon all the fuss. He really thought we should all be paying attention to him, but he didn't get angry about it, just was too sure. It was nice to get away, see family, and relax in the nice fresh clean air.

I took off work and went with Dylan on his first field trip! We went to the pumpkin patch. He loved it! He liked climbing on the pumpkins, walking through the corn maze, and basically running wild. He was not a fan of the animals, he would look at them from a distant, but not up close. He even looked at the other kids that were touching them, like they were crazy. I could just read his mind, he was saying....why are you touching those things. You should see what he does...it is very hard to describe, he closes his fists, and shakes his head like (ewewww). Too funny, you just have to see it. He especially enjoyed the hay maze becuase there was a slide at the end. You climbed the hay bales to the top of the slide and slide down....two of his favorite things: sliding and climbing.

He also had his first "program" at school. Apparently it is a warm-up for the real thing, the Christmas program. It was their Halloween Party, they dressed up and then sang their songs they had been working on. Let me just say, I realize that if I am going to attend the program, I am going to need a trench coat and dark sunglasses. Dylan did fine until he saw me and then all bets were off. Apparently, he loves music time, just not in front of a lot of people and not with his mama sitting in arms length. You can see his teacher sitting there trying to convince him that he wants to sing for mama, but apparently, he was not buying what she was selling.
So as you can see, Dylan was a dragon for Halloween. Cutest darn dragon you ever saw! When you asked him what a dragon says, he would say "Rawwwww" kind of soft like. It was really cute. I like to title this picture, it's hard to catch a dragon. I need a fast camera like Leigh, because every shot that was great, he moved to fast I missed it.

We went to Trunk or Treat at church. Of course Mark set up his car (the rolling billboard). He set up a tv and connected the Wii to it. Kids would bowl a frame and then get candy. Pretty popular with the kids, have NO idea where he got the idea! (ha). Dylan also trick or treated the the doors at the church building the day before at school. Needless to say, we are still munching on candy, I mean, what kind of mother would let her child eat all that candy by himself! OK, OK, he is getting some of it...quit judging me.

So, 2 years ago today, we saw this beautiful little face for the first time. I still remember how I felt when I opened the email with the picture. I fell in love with a little boy half way around the world.
Never would I have dreamed how much I would love him and he would love me. He is so happy, so healthy, so perfect. God could not have picked a more perfect child for a family.
He is so loved and has blessed all of our lives so much. I hope he will always know how much the Lord blessed us all and picked us to be a family. Thank you to all my family, friends and my new wonderful friends that I have met through this wonderful process. Adoption buddies, you mean the world to me!
