15 Months Old

Wow, time sure does fly. Dylan is 15 months old today. Tomorrow, we will have been home for 4 months. It is amazing how different he is now. I was looking through photos from the orphanage and other pics from Vietnam. I can't believe how much he has changed. He trying really hard to walk. He says several words. (Mama, bye-bye, Elmo, Na-na, da-da, ball) Of course he only says these when he wants to. You really can't coax him into it. Stubborn little guy. He is doing really well.

We still go to therapy every Monday. She is happy with his progress. She has noticed how much he has changed too. He is doing more things and getting braver by the day. This morning, he was kind enough to unroll all the toilet paper in the bathroom. VERY helpful. Yesterday at church, he was sharing his cracker with his little Curious George doll. He was putting it to George's mouth and making the eating sign with his mouth. He kept looking at the cracker and then looked at George kind of like....hey...why aren't you eating this cracker! It was totally cracking me up. Of course every where we go, we are a distraction. I am not sure many people in church pay attention to the preaching any more...they are too busy making faces and playing with Dylan.

Our world consists of Elmo (we LOVE Elmo), his ball popper. He plays it over, and over, and over......He also loves his walker that plays music. Just ask us, we can tell you want each button says. Anything with music pretty much takes center stage. If a commerical or intro to a show comes on and has music, he stops dead in his tracks to listen. He also has started dancing to this music. Too cute.

We bought him an Elmo doll this weekend. He finally will accept stuffed animals (sort of). We were walking through target and came to an aisle with Elmo's. He just pointed at each one and said Elmo, Elmo, Elmo. I guess he was in Elmo heaven! So of course, he got an Elmo.

Well, I will leave you with a few pictures that show the contrast of four months ago and then today.

The picture to the left shows him on the day of the medical check where they told us he was malnourished. Well, check him out to the right...same outfit and much bigger! He has gained 4 lbs since this picture!

The picture to the left shows him with his daddy on the day that we met Dylan. Can this really be the same child?! We thank God everyday for our sweet little boy!

Dylan looks great! That ball popper looks pretty fun, too. I might have to get one for the kids.
