Finally an Update

Things are going well. Dylan is so close to being a walking boy! He has taken about 10 steps without holding on to anything. But he is not quite off and running. When he does walk from one place to another without holding onto anything, he will clap for himself! (This is because we have been clapping and saying yea!!!) Too Cute. The therapist has been happy with his progress. He did crawl about 3 steps at therapy this week, so that is an improvement. The doctor is please with his progress as well. We were in his office about 2-3 weeks ago. Dylan had gained another pound, he was 17.7lbs. He is averaging about a pound a month. He is 28 in long. Still a little guy but growing.

We are pretty much off formula now. He has 1 formula bottle right before bed. The rest is milk. He likes to drink like a big boy. He has a sippy cup with a straw that he will drink about a cup sometimes cup and a half at the sitters. He will drink some milk in the morning a little bit with dinner. He still will not drink any juice of any kind...but will drink lots of water. He eats like a horse. He loves chicken, mac and cheese, and yogurt. He will eat lots of things, and still mostly baby food. He is starting to get a bit picky...he wants table foods.

We are pretty much in a routine now. He has adjusted to me going to work. He doesn't like it, but he deals with it. Every morning when I drop him off he cries, but when I am gone, he is fine and has lots of fun. I am getting used to being back at work. It has been quite busy, but I am always glad to go home. Since I work during the day, the last thing I want to do when I get home is get on the computer, so updates are getting harder.

Dylan is not much of a talker. He really has a mind of his own. STUBBORN...is the word I am looking for. Everyone says that I am getting exactly what I deserve (have NO idea what they are talking about!) He can say bye bye, elmo, dada, mama, off, and I think bite. But he will say these words when he wants to. He says them at appropriate times, but if you ask or prompt him to say them....no deal. For instance, we were standing by the door at the sitters, I was talking, and he pointed to the door and said...bye bye. He was ready to go. But then he wouldn't say it again. Last week, everything was Elmo, but if you show him a picture, ask him who is that...he just smiles. He is quite the little toot.

His favorite things are Elmo, bath time, his musical walker, and anything kind of toy that plays music. This kid is very musical. His latest thing is to look at a book, take your finger, point to the pictures and have you tell him what it is. But the funny thing is, he does it in a musical fashion. Like this elmo book he has, he will use a rhythm. (Elmo, Big Bird...Elmo, Big Bird, Elmo,Elmo,Elmo....nose) He throws that in randomly (points to my nose) It really cracks me up. Then he gets going so fast, he trips you up and we both start laughing. He is a smart little cookie.
He is doing better at church, he will go to class and smiles at the teachers. (I still have to stay, but I can walk around and not have to stay in one place) He did walk off with someone last Sunday, and even sat in the pew with Ms. Kim for a little bit. So he is doing much better. He still pretty much stares down strangers, but he is opening up with people he "knows". Nana and Papa were here last week and it didn't take long at all for him to play and laugh with them. He remembers them. In fact, Mark and I went to a party at church Sat. night and he stayed with Nana and Papa. They had a great time and there was no crying. I guess that is about it for now. I will try to be better...no promises. Here are some pictures.
