Well, since it has been a total downpour in OK, and the mosquitoes pretty much eat us alive while we are just trying to get in the car, we haven't played too much outside. So we decided to play at Nana's house. Guess what we discovered, Dylan is terrified of the GRASS! I don't know what he thinks, but he just freaks out when he gets near it. We were holding him and his would lift his feet, so they wouldn't touch it. When we sat him in it, he pretty much went balistic. He kept looking down at the grass like it was going to get him. So strange. We will definetly have to work on that.
Dylan got to meet Uncle Steve. He spent a lot of quality time playing with him. Just ask Uncle Steve about "jumping". Dylan's new thing (not really new...just more of it) is to have you lift him in the air over and over jumping him up high! He just squeals and laughs. He keeps "whining" to have more. We kept passing him around because for a little guy, he can get pretty heavy. We go to the dr next week, so we will see how much he weighs. We did a test on the home scales and it was about 16 1/2 lbs. Hopefully it is about that or more. The way he is eating...I wouldnt' be surprised if it is over 17. He is really starting to get a little budda belly!
A lady from Nana's church gave Dylan some golf clubs. You should have seen Daddy, Uncle Steve, and Papa. They were way more excited than Dylan was. Of course they had to take them out and practice putting. Even though the boy can't stand on his own...they all thought he needs to work on putting now! (there is no hope!) This week Dylan has wanted to be on his feet. He is finally growing tired of scooting on the floor, but the problem is, he still doesn't pull up, doesn't have balance and he wants to walk so bad. He has started taking steps while you hold his hands. He thinks he is such a big boy. The therapist really wants him to crawl, but I am hear to tell you, she will have to be more stubborn than this kid. He won't have it...he wants to walk NOW!
ON the 4th, we went to a picnic at the church. We had hot dogs, hamburgers, chicken, and all sorts of food. We all sat out under the trees, sweating like pigs. Can you believe that is is actually warmer in Neb than it is in OK??? They haven't had rain in forever and those of you in OK, let me tell you, sunshine is pretty nice to look at!
My parents live in a neighborhood that shoots off tons of fireworks, so we woke Dylan up and took him outside. He was pretty terrified of the noise. He liked to look at the pretty lights, but he didn't like the way it all sounded. Of course to be fair, it did sound like a war zone and it all went until midnight or later.
Being up here, we have fallen into a lot of bad habits. As is normal, he was spoiled "completely rotten" by nana and papa. He just moans until he gets what he wants, and it doesn't take long before one of them jump to his beckon call. He has been sleeping in our room and in our bed. It gets darker a lot later here, so he has been going to bed really late and waking up late. Poor boy is in for a rude awakening. We are going to have to get back on schedule. There is going to be a LOT of screaming at our house next week. Well, we head home tomorrow, it has been a fun trip, but it is back to reality and a serious reality at that...Mama has to return to work July 17. This Mama's Boy is going to be REALLY, REALLY upset. (So is Mama).

Sounds like you're having a great time. Reality is not fun. I HATED going back to work, but after the first few days it was OK. Be prepared...he will probably have some difficulty sleeping when you go back to work. But...it too will get better.
Travel safely back to Oklahoma!
hey, I think this Mama is going to be really really upset. :) it's TOUGH leaving them. No matter who it's with. Can't wait to see him live and in person again. what a cutie!

Your 4th sounds like a lot of fun! It rained here. haha I hope the transition to work goes smoothly. I know that has to be rough for everyone.
What a great trip! Little boys love to be spoiled by Nana and Papa! Travel safely home. Praying for your transition as you return to work.
Hey Kim,
It's been so long since I looked at the website. Dylan's pictures are so cute. I'm sure it will be hard for you to leave him when you come back to work, however, I will be glad to have you back. I've missed bugging you! If you ever need a free baby-sitter, give me a holler.
Can't wait to start harassing you again. ;)

Sounds like you guys had a great trip and a great holiday! I love the pictures. Ava hated grass too, but watch out next summer he'll be tearing up the backyard. :)
Us northerners would gladly take some of the rain off your hands. We've had 100 degree weather all week.
I LOVE your family picture! It is so wonderful! It was so good to see you and to meet Dylan. I hope the transition of you going back to work goes as smoothly as possible for all of you!
Great new pics!
He's really settling in now.
All grandparent trips are fruit-basket upset to your normal routines - but in such a good way, it's worth the "adjustment" when you get back! (ADJUSTMENT is my happy parent term for not exactly happy child!)
We'll be praying for you all as you head back to work!
Wow, he did great on the road! That can be hard on little ones. Sarah didn't like the fireworks either....and she doesn't like grass all that much. Hope you all do ok when you return to work. Pretty soon it will just be the norm.
I'm glad you had a great time! There will be a time where you want Dylan to stay off the grass and he won't. :) I go back to work on the 26th and am dreading it. I will be praying for you and your family during the adjustment.
