Well, today is 10 years for Mark and I! We could not be celebrating in a better place! The Dillon staff in Vietnam sent us the most beautiful roses!!! We seriously cannot say enough nice things about the staff over here! They are SO wonderful. They walk us through every step, they really care about the families and these darling children. For those of you that haven't traveled yet, you are going to love them all!
So today is a holiday here in Vietnam. What is it about us and holidays! We seem to hit them all. Tomorrow the guys are supposed to pick up passports, then there is nothing to do until Wednesday. Because of course, Monday and Tuesday are holidays! But that is ok, we will just play with our little guy!

He is totally a different boy than the one we spent the first 2 days with! He laughs and smiles a lot. You should see him play, he totally cracks us up. Sometimes, Mark and I are laughing so hard there are tears in my eyes. He likes to do this thing where he shakes his head no real fast. I think he like to make himself dizzy. He has started babbling a lot today. He says "MaMaMaMaMa" I like to think he is saying my name! :) (I know the truth, but humor me!) We are working on trying to get him to sit up on his own. He is a little behind, reminds me of a 6-7 mo old. Which is fine with me because he is saving all the milestones for his mama! That is one thing that made me so sad as we were waiting, I kept thinking I was missing all the firsts. But I didn't, and honestly now it just doesn't matter. All that waiting seems like forever ago. It was miserable while we were going through it....but TOTALLY worth it!

Of the very few toys we brought with us, he has a couple of favorites. There is this block in his hand. He loves to hold it and shake it around. If you aren't careful, he will bonk you in the head with it. He also does this funny thing where he stretches his arm out strong and just kind of pumps it in the air. It is really pretty funny and hard to describe. He will do that when this block is in his hands. He also has a set of big keys, that are chewy on the end. He loves these. In fact the other night he fell asleep with them in his hand and I could hear them move off and on throughout the night. He is sleeping well. He sleeps about 8 hours each night. Which to me is great! The napping, not so good. He only takes 20 min spurts here and there and he will not lay in his bed, he has to be in my arms or Mark's.

For the record, Dylan loves American Idol!! I watched a little last night, and he watched with me off and on, but we were playing. But tonight as been a long show, and he watched it. In fact, when I gave him his bottle, he kept turning his head to watch.
We celebrated our Anniversary today at Pizza Hut! Ok, so you laugh, but it was the best pizza ever. Plus, the best part was we had pepsi with ICE! Oh how I miss ice! Of course they have it, but you can't drink the water, and I never realized how much I would miss it!
The Pizza Hut is in a mall. We walked around the mall, bought some baby food and snacks. Then we walked back to the hotel a different way. Mark bought me a rose from a cute little girl and I got a bracelet from a lady. She was very persistent! Dylan fell asleep in the carrier. We came back, did bath time. He is so funny in the bath. He is a slick little devil and slides all over the tub! He loves it! After his bath, he feels so good he goes crazy. He bounces around, laughing, kicking his legs. At this moment, American Idol is STILL on and he is bouncing around on the bed, moving in circles, playing with Daddy. We may never get him to sleep tonight! He is eating very well! We will have the little guy fattened up in no time. I have to tell you, he has just opened up in the last 2 days. He is so funny and we laugh all the time. We love everyone and miss you all very much. We can't wait for you to meet this darling boy!

Happy Anniversary! It's certainly one you will never forget! Dylan sounds like he's doing great...Mom and Dad, too. :) The picture of him lying next to his Daddy is precious.
Talk about a happy anniversary! When you got married, I bet you never thought you'd spend your 10th in Vietnam with your new baby! Thanks so much for sharing your journey with all of us. I can't wait to see more photos and read more about your trip.

Congratulations on your 10th anniversary. This is Kathryn Nimmo's mom. I check you site daily, and have enjoyed all the pictures and details of your experience. Your son is just a sweetie and you all look so happy. It has been a privilege to share in this experience. Both Dan, my husband, and I look forward to meeting you and I know there will be many years of great stories of the boys and their special friends.

WOW - what an amazing anniversary gift! I love hearing about Dylan's personality and the things he's doing. You know, you really have NO IDEA how much joy a baby brings you until it actually happens. Sounds like you're loving EVERY minute of it, which is just what you should be doing.
We'll pray for speedy paperwork processing so you can hurry home! And happy whatever holiday it is over there...any excuse to celebrate, right?
Jess
P.S. - Skype me if you get a chance! It was so neat to talk to you the other day and see you SOOOO happy.
Happy Anniversary! What a special gift you have this year!
Glad to hear that Dylan is opening up to you guys!
We were just there in Vietnam and it sounds like you're soaking up every minute just like we did. I know what you mean about enjoying him being such a baby. I worried over missing so many of his "firsts." Now, we experience new discoveries every day. Even though Rocco is 1, he is so little (wearing 3 month pants). I love all of the details that you share. Keep up the blogging!

You know, Eric and I celebrated our 10th anniversary three days after having Brayden. For two completely different beginnings, our boys sure have a lot in common! Just wait until Dylan starts singing to you with your curling iron as a microphone. He is going to be a little American Idol too! It cracked me up when you wrote about Dylan shaking his head, Brayden thinks that is the funniest thing!
For the record, "MaMaMaMaMa" is Momma! You heard it right!!
Love ya!
Jennifer
