8 Months Old Today

Well, Dylan is 8 mos old today. I am just sitting here thinking about him. Wishing I could pick him up. Thinking about the things we need to take over there, thinking about the things we still need. I really hope that by the time we pick him up, he is not older then 9 mos. I am still holding out that we will travel next month, right before he turns 10 mos old. It is really tough knowing you are missing different milestones in his life.

I was talking with one of the teachers at one of our elementary schools yesterday. We have gone to a scrapbook weekend together. So she knows how I love to take pictures and am huge scrapbooker. Anyway, she asked about pictures of Dylan. I told her I basically have 3 pictures of him. (I have a total of 5, but 2 of them are basically the same time and place, just with his buddies) Anyway, she said...oh my goodness. How are you doing this? I can't imagine not having tons of pictures. I said yes, but even worse than that, i don't have newborn pictures or anything like that. His first picture was at 2 mos. and the next one was at 6 mos. Hard to imagine. I know I will totally make up for it. I will have so many pictures when he is one year old and for the rest of his life, that there won't be enough albums in the world!

I have the church shower next weekend, so I am looking forward to that. There has been a lot of news in the adoption world this week. Couple of people received LIDS, and a couple of referrals. So it is nice that people are receiving news, when we were told we may not hear anything for the whole month. Tet officially starts a week from now, so maybe we will hear something next week before it starts, but I have prepared myself not to hear anything for the next couple of weeks. So friends, keep praying. Pray for news, pray for a speedy process, pray for all my friends in the adoption world, and pray for me to understand this is all in God's time. He knows what is best for our family.
