We had our first shower yesterday and I am just overwhelmed by the kindness and graciousness of the people I work with! It was absolutely incredible! I am the elementary coordinator and district trainer for our district. I work primarily with 4 elementary schools, but do spend time with MS and HS administration. There were over 5o people that showed up to the shower. I opened gifts for an hour! I was shocked and completely humbled by the kindness of my colleagues! They are all so excited for Mark and I, they know all the obstacles we have been through as we have tried to build our family. They have all seen the pictures of Dylan and they are happy and excited with us. Many of them have followed our journey and have been so supportive and kind. Words cannot express how I felt yesterday. I thank God that I have a nice place to work with kind and caring people.

Just to give you an idea of how many people we are talking about, we counted the number of people that gave gifts, and I now will be sitting down for the next few evenings writing 92! thank you notes! You read it right, 92.
I am also very grateful that my mother is retired and was able to travel to my house and spend time with me and attend the shower. We have lived apart now for several years, and I miss having my parents close. But they are both excited about their first grandbaby, and now they will have time to spend with him. And I am sure, spoil him completely rotten!

This has been a really long journey to start our family, but I know in my heart that for some reason, we needed to go through this experience. Maybe God needed us to learn something, or maybe he wanted us to fully appreciate the gift we are receiving from this precious woman in Vietnam, who for whatever reason, knew she could not provide for her little Hai Thanh, and wanted to give him a new life and loved him enough to give him up so that someone (us) could provide for him. I will forever be grateful to this woman!
All I know, is that I very happy, I feel very blessed, and I am truly grateful for all the gifts of my life. Especially my friends and colleages! Thank you, everyone, and Thank you GOD!
