Time for a New Look

Well, I got tired of the old look and decided to go with new. Thought this was pretty appropriate. Truth is, I wanted to go with Elmo but it was TOO obnoxious!

We are preparing for Tet. We have several celebrations this weekend. Can't wait to post the pictures. I am going to try to get Dylan to sit through Ten Mice for Tet. It will probably end up him pointing to pictures and me telling him what they are. (That is how we read). Dylan is doing well. I look at him and just can't believe how far he has come. Just 9 months ago, this little boy could barely sit up on his own. Now he is crawling, walking, running, climbing (small things) and just changed into a little toddler. I am starting to see flashes of 2 year old and it scares me to death! He is going to be a little hand full! He is still stubborn as the day is long, but at least he does not act stubborn all the time. He definetly has his own mind, he will not copy, or say anything you ask him to...he speaks when he wants to.

I have been a bit frustrated by the lack of words. He is very into grunting and pointing. I just say the words for him and try to get him to repeat. Everyone keeps asking me how many words he can say...I have no idea. I can tell you how many I have heard, but he only says Mama, Bye Bye, and shakes his head no consistently. For the first time last week he did make the cow sound. He would do it on cue for a couple of days and now he is over that!

He is a smart boy, he can point to the animals if you ask him (where is the duck). He can point out all of the Sesame Street Characters. He can point to red and sometimes blue. He understands everything we say to him. If I ask him to bring me something, he will do it. He understands where rooms are in our house, he follows 2 step directions pretty well. He still likes taking baths and being tossed into the air (Rocket Ship as Daddy calls it). Lately he has been turning in circles making himself dizzy. He just cracks up and then keeps his balance really well, but looks a little drunk. There is something unsettling about him "liking the drunk feeling." He also thinks it is funny to walk backwards.

We are finally having some success in our sleeping arrangements. He has finally started sleeping in his own bed that his daddy so affectionatley refers to as the "Dylan Suite". Our guest bedroom has a queen size bed in it, and that is where he sleeps! He hates his baby bed, he will not sleep in the single bed, but likes the queen size bed. We think that we will give his toddler bed a shot, we have it...might as well try it, but if it has to be the queen, so be it! At least he has moved out of our bed! No more feet in the face, or head in the back, etc. Don't get me wrong, I love to cuddle with him, but he is turning into a wild sleeper.

For some reason we are going through a phase again of him crying when we drop him off at the sitters. This has just been new in the last couple of weeks. He loves being with them and has a great time, but he has cried every day. Apparently it doesn't last long, he turns it off pretty quickly. Just give him some food and he will do whatever! He seems to eat all day long! I don't think we have passed the 20 lb mark yet. At the last doctor appt a couple of weeks ago he was 19.4 and 30 in long. So we are getting there!

Our house has been on the market now for 1 month. We have had a lot of foot traffic. We have had lookers every weekend. Just no takers yet. We got close once, but I think I am glad that didn't work out. The husband seemed to be a real jerk. So probably worked out for the best that they didn't happen. I am just ready to sell and move on with things. I am ready to find a house and get settled. It is stressful keeping your house clean and ready to show ALL the time. Sorry, no new pictures to post, they are still on my camera. But I will have some in the next couple of weeks to show you our Tet celebrations! Until then....Chuc Mung Nam Moi!

I love your new look! Cookie Monster was always my favorite, although Elmo was the boys'! I can't wait to watch them all over with Caleigh! Our boys used to like the "drunk" feeling. My husband used to spin them around while they lay flat on the floor & then they would try to stand up. I have video; it's quite hilarious! They still love to go "fast" on anything...bikes, roller coasters, etc. Scares me to death! They were jumping bike ramps at age 5. Ahhhh, boys.....
Hope your house sells quickly!

I am just catching up...I love the new look. I keep saying that I am going to do something to change mine, but in the end it seems like too much work!

I'm hoping your house moves quickly. It is so hard (with a toddler) to keep it clean for lookers!

Happy New Year!

I have SO enjoyed spending time with you the past few weeks! TET was a blast...even if the drive to Norman was something to forget... ;) I love you friend! I'm thinking that we REALLY need to get together more though, just so that Dylan learns to love and adore his Aunt Kerrie!! ;) Let me know when the next scrapbook night is...oh, and see you Friday for pics!! :)
