Well, we had great celebrations last weekend. It all started last week with a Tet party at the Nimmo's. Cole invited several of his friends over for lunch. We had a great lunch, colored some dragons and played. It was a nice time. The ride out to Norman....not so nice! We decided to pick up Zak and Kerrie. We put the boys in the back seat together and Dylan cried the WHOLE way to Norman. Let me tell you, that drive never felt so long. I don't know what came over him, but he was freaked out for some reason. Zak cried at first too, but he settled down....not my child! I even pulled over and tried to calm him down, he was fine when I was back there, but started up again as soon as I got back in the front seat. Very miserable ride. And no, Tub Tunes will not drown out the cries of my son. He did great at Kathryn's house, he played and had a good time, but the ride, not so much.
Friday, we went to the Sala's house for a Tet celebration. It was wonderful. Kerrie really went all out. Everything was wonderful, it was nice to spend time with more families in the OKC area that went to the same province as we did. Everyone was doing great and the children are all gorgeous. We had TONS of food. Everything was great. The rat theme was fun. We came up with creative ways to celebrate the year of the rat. I made some really creepy looking chocolate covered cherry rats. They even had red eyes! The best part was when people picked them up by the tails and ate the rat! Funny!
Kerrie did a great job of trying to teach the kids (without attention spans) all about the Tet traditions. All in all, it was a great time. We also drove to Tulsa on Sunday. We attended their Lunar New Year fundraiser dinner. It was a very nice dinner and it was good to see some of the families. While Dylan won't remember much from this year, it was fun to participate and start some new traditions.
But this week, Dylan was SICK, SICK, SICK! He has an ear infection, again. This time, he has run some really high temps. I think the highest was 103.7. That concerned me a bit. He has not wanted to eat. He has felt very miserable. He had a cold, he is coughing, it is really sad. We went to the doctor, antibiotics again. Finally last night, he made a turn for the better. So we hope we are on the mend. Nana comes to visit this week. So we are looking forward to that.
We have not sold the house yet. Feeling pretty antsy. We have had several lookers and a couple of out there offers, but nothing that we could live with. So we are stillworking on it. Let me tell you, it is not easy to keep your house in that "ready to show" condition with a 20 mo old busy little boy. Enjoy some pictures from our Tet Weekend Festivities.

Okay...so the car ride was definately worse for you than it was for us...Dylan's cry is NOTHING compared to Zak's SCREAM! ;)...But I understand the frustration of dealing with your own! I'm so sorry that Dylan is sick, again!! YUCK! We had SO much fun with you all over TET weekend. We HAVE to get together more!! Love you...praying for the house to sell!!!
Your TET celebrations look like so much fun. The boys are so handsome.
I'm still praying for ya on the house...hope something works out soon.
I loved the chocolate rats! Too cute!
The pictures of the boy's photo shoot are priceless!! WB wants one of those outfits with the ponytail coming out of the hat for TET next year!
