FINALLY......we are headed to Vietnam. It is actually going to happen. We got our G&R today. Dylan will forever be ours on April 24th. (for those of you that don't know what a G&R is...it is the Giving and Receiving Ceremony. This is the day we stand before the Vietnamese Govt, promise to take care of and love Dylan. We sign papers, and he is officially our son!) We have our travel agent working on the tickets. He is trying to get the four families together, which is just great! We hope to meet up with Stacy and Scott in Dallas or LA. The agent hopes to have something to us this evening around 9ish. Looks like we will leave on either April 19, or 20. So 2 weeks and 2 days! Right now, we will be set to return on May 10th. If we get everything finished, we will "hopefully" be able to move that date up. We will post when we know for sure.
So let me tell you the story of today. (that is if I can remember it!) A couple of weeks ago, the girls (other Can Tho mommies) got on Instant Messenger and we have been talking. It was getting hard to follow our MANY, MANY emails. So this morning, we were in a conference window all talking together. Wondering if we would receive our date. Jynger (our director) had emailed us last week and told us it looked pretty favorable for us to hear something at the beginning of this week. But she asked us not to say anything in case it didn't happen. So I didn't post....that was hard! So, we were thinking, if her "suggested" timeline she gave us was right, we would hear something today. Well, I got the email first. I started screaming!!! I couldn't even type any more. I kept saying....oh my gosh....oh my gosh. They were all saying....WHAT??? I told them we got the email. Of course it was crazy from there! We were all freaking out together.
We got off the instant messenger and starting making phone calls. I don't remember doing any work at all. I was shaking like a leaf. I felt like I had drank about 20 Dr. Pepper's. I was so hyped up! I swear at several points I had 2 phones to my ears. The phrase of the day...."let me call you right back!" Finally, it is 8:30 and it seems like things are settling down! I really don't remember too many of my conversations from the day, it has all been a whirlwind. Pray for us over the next month. We have a long, wonderful journey ahead of us. We can't wait! We will keep you all updated through our site. We will have pictures and posts. We anticipating having access throughout the trip, sometimes it will be better than others. So check back with us and follow our wonderful journey! We love everyone and thank you so much for supporting us!
