Dylan Turned 10 Mos. Tuesday

This time next week we will be in Dallas waiting to board the plane to LA! It is just incredible!! All four families will be together. We meet up with Scott and Stacy in Dallas! We will all be sitting together, getting to know Scott and Stacy, and just shaking with excitement about the long journey ahead of us!

Today for the first time, I actually felt nerves! I had that "butterflies in the tummy" feeling. It is a nervous, excited feeling. I am SO ready for this trip, I am SO ready for my son, I am SO ready to have him in my arms (I am NOT SO packed) but I am SO ready! I have been trying to finish up last minute things at work. Pretty much, tomorrow is it. I will probably work 1/2 a day on Monday, then I won't return until mid July. I really think I will need a good amount of time to spend with Dylan. He will be adjusting and I want to make sure we have plenty of time together as we work on the bonding and attachment. I know that being gone for 3 weeks will get old, and I will be VERY happy to return home, but I must say, I am grateful for the time that we will be able to spend as the new family of three. We will have QUALITY one on one time together as a family and I think that will be good.

Monday, we have a conference call set up with our director to cover last minute details. This weekend we are packing and getting all the last minute stuff. It is real, we are leaving, and we are coming home with our beautiful son. Thought I would put together a little show of our beautiful boy....just wait until a week and a half, there will be so many pictures of him....you will get sick of seeing them!!!

I have butterflies for you! Are you all coming through LA on your return trip? I would so love to meet the Can Tho boys (and their parents of course!) if you happen to have a long lay-over. Will you e-mail me if that's the case? momwholoveschrist@hotmail.com

You all are going to have SO much fun traveling together! I can't wait for some crazy Can Tho Mommy stories. :) LOL You'll be amazed at how fast 3 weeks fly by. You'll be ready to come home but sad to leave...a mixed bag of emotions.

I am so happy for you to be at this exciting stage of your adoption. As excited and nervous as you are, try and stay calm and be prepared for anything. One thing I learned when we adopted our daughter from China in 2004, was anything can happen, and you CAN handle it, and it WILL all work out. Dillon is ready for you and you are ready for him. Have a safe journey and enjoy every minute of your stay.
