We got an email today telling us to get our visas! They told us to put April 1st!! So we can hope that means we will travel in April for sure. I am not holding my breath, but I do have hope. I hope that we will travel in mid April, but just really hope it is April and not May!
I went to the bank today to get a cashier's check (you have to do that for the visas) and while I was in there, the boy helping me asked "do you mind if is ask why you are making this check out to the Embassy of Vietnam? Now most people would probably find that nosey, but not me!!! I take every opportunity to share with people I have a son waiting for me in Vietnam. As we were talking about it, another boy walked by and said....did you say Vietnam? I said..yes. He said, I am Vietnamese. Where is your son? I told him......he told the correct way to say Can Tho. (and girls.....we are not even saying it close to correct) He lives close by. He said it is about 2 1/2-3 hr bus ride from Ho Chi Minh City to Can Tho. Now the real interesting part of the story is.....guess what his name is??? Thanh!!! That is right, I finally heard an expert tell me how to say Dylan's middle name. It is a cross between "tan" and "tawn". But we don't say it right. They say it very fast. "Tahn" but chop off the end. His co-workers in the bank call him Tan. Of course being okies.....they drag it out....TAAAAAAN. So I guess it is official. Tan.
The people in the bank were excited. They asked to see pictures, of course I supplied! One of the loan officers was out there talking to us and she said...we need to open a savings account for Dylan. She was funny. She was very excited and said I needed to bring him in. I get a lot of requests for that.
Anyway, it was fun, and another exciting day. I love hearing some kind of news, it is all about the milestones! Some people don't understand that it is good news to hear your paperwork has moved. They just want to hear about the final product. But we "adoptive moms" know....it IS all about the milestones!

YEA! I am so excited about this milestone! Just think Dylan just might be in your arms in less than a month! I am so excited for you.
It won't be long now! Congratulations on this huge milestone!
You are so right about the importance of milestones. Congrats on the Visas! That's such a huge step!
Congrats on getting one more thing checked off the list. I can't wait to follow your travels to your little Dylan. Our son's name is also Thanh and I have had 3 Vietnamese people tell me 3 differnt ways to say it. Guess we will all have to figure out how the nannies in our son's orphanages pronounce it and try to do it like them...
