Amazing Story

So, instead of focusing on how miserable I am, I decided to share a story with you that shows how amazing God is.

I went to the eye doctor today for my yearly checkup. While I was there, I decided to show him a picture of Dylan. Mark has been concerned with his left eye. He thought it looked crossed in a couple of pictures. Mark is very sensitive to the lazy eye because he had crossed eyes and had to start wearing glasses when he was 2 years old. Anyway, I saw a pamplet about lazy eyes and decided to ask. When I told him we were adopting from Vietnam, I found out that he had just recently adopted a little girl from China. He said, it is actually a pretty interesting story. He said, would you like to hear it.......well of course!

He had adopted a daughter from Nashville about 8 years ago. A couple of years ago, she started asking them to get her a little sister. They said, no we are finished, we are not going to have any more children. Well, one day, his daughter woke up and said...I had a dream last night. I dreamed we went a long way away to pick up my sister. He said...really? She said, yes, we picked her up from a place that was like a hospital. It was a white building and it was 5 stories tall. He said... "like" a hospital...you mean it wasn't one? She said, no, when you walked in, it just had a lot of baby beds. She said, I saw my sister. He said ...well, what did she look like. She said, she was pretty like me. He said, you mean she had blonde hair and blue eyes like you. She said, no, she had black hair and slanty eyes.

Well, they started looking into adoption and decided they would persue it. The only country they were eligible for was China (Vietnam was closed). So in Feb. of 05, they started the process. It ended up being a fast one, they went to China in Dec of that year. (05) When they got to the orphanage, the director (or whoever) asked if they would like to see where the baby had been abanded. He said, well we have the police record, we know she was left on the footsteps of the orphanage. The man said...yes, but it wasn't this orphanage, this has only been here 3 mos. They took them to the place and .....you guessed it, it was a white 5 story building!!! How cool is that!

The little girl they adopted was sick, she had a parasite that was not allowing her to take in nutrients from foods she was eating. The pediatrican asked when they started the process, when she found out how fast it was, the 8 yr old daughter said....yes, God sped up the process because my sister would be dead if he hadn't.

Isn't that the sweetest story! God touches so many lives and in the last year, he has shown me so much. To my wonderful new friends that I have made through this process, I thank God, that he brought you all into my life! Not only are we going to be blessed with our adorable son, but we have been blessed with your wonderful support. Thanks for all the support through emails, comments, and the such. I love you "adoption buddies!"

That's an amazing story. It makes it a bit easier to handle the wait when you know there is a purpose behind it all.
