Update

We received an update from our agency. Instead of trying to remember it all, I will post the best parts. The only downside to the message was that a new fee of $3000 was added. I guess we are already in so deep....why not keep going???? Actually since they are licensed in another province, they are opening new offices and the money will go towards that. Guess you have to think postive and think this is just helping more children and families.

Letter:
Dillon has officially been approved to place children for adoption from Can Tho City. We have been anticipating the license since this summer and are overjoyed that it has finally happened. We do have four children available for adoption from Can Tho City. Currently, we are waiting on their legal papers to be processed before we can refer them to families.

So that helps with receiving referrals.

We also have papers in process for children in our Vinh Long, Ninh Thuan and Angiang provinces. Some of you may wonder what I mean by “papers in process." When a child has been admitted to the orphanage for adoption, the provincial authorities have to start gathering paperwork such as a birth certificate, relinquishment or abandonment certificate and the decision from the orphanage to help place this child for international adoption.

Remember, the referral is the information about our baby.

So, there are 13 families on the waiting list, at last count (and I am not real sure about this) but we are about number 7. Now keep in mind, the number on the list isn't set in stone. You can move around on the list based on age/gender/etc we requested compared to the age/gender/etc of the available child.

So all this is to say, I am looking at this as good news! Seems like we could be getting closer to referral. We will just all have to pray that they start rolling in during the next few weeks. I would be wonderful to have a referral by Thanksgiving, but I really pray we have it by Christmas.
