Decorated the Room

Mom and Dad came down this week and we decorated the baby's room. Dad and Mark pulled up the carpet and put in a wood laminate floor. It is very pretty. Mom and I painted all the baseboards and the closet doors. We cleaned out the room and bought furniture. It all came together this week. We worked hard, but it was worth it. I love the room. I still have things to put on the walls and when we find out if the baby is a boy or a girl, I will buy a rug, bedding for the twin bed, and a curtain. I decided to go with a solid color, depending on whether it is a boy or a girl. It is starting to feel real. Now we just need our baby.

Do you find yourself going into the room, sitting in the rocker, and just looking at everything? Once I got our nursery to this point, I did that a lot. I loved going in and daydreaming about our baby on the way, even before I knew it was going to be a boy. I really enjoyed those times. I am so excited for you!!!

I remember doing the same thing. I would envision how wonderful it was going to be when I had my baby in my arms. Lots of times I just wanted to check to make sure everything was OK, but we didn't have the ultrasounds like we have them now. Also, back then we didn't know if it was a boy or girl, so we referred to "it" or "the baby" while waiting. With each one it took awhile after meeting our new baby to get out of that habit and use her name.
I sure am looking forward to meeting your little one ... can't wait to find out if you are having a boy or girl !
